Half Moon Bay - Cabezon/Rocks/Lings
Decided to crew on John's Boat today. We decided to fish out of Half
Moon Bay, this was going to be one of the last of the last flat days to
fish so decided to take advantage of it before the seas started to come
back up. John picked me at my house at 6am and we headed to Pacifica to
pick up his boat and meet his friend Kim. We were in the water at 7:15am
and started right out of the harbor at the green bouy and did a few drifts.
Not much was biting so we headed up the coast past the radar station to
our regular spot near Montara. We spent the rest of the day there landing
nice size cabbies all averaging 4-5 lbs, Browns, Chinas, a Sea Trout and
2-3 undersize Lings (thrown back). At 1:30pm we decided to call it a day.
We had landed close to 40 fish but kept 32 of them. The weather was great,
Flat, no chop or wind, just a big Lake out there. And great company and
lots of laughs!!
