Marin Coast - Dux/Rocky point Salmon

Today was going to be Salmon Fishing up the Marin Coast. Duxbury Bouy and Rocky point had reports of big slugs being caught so we went to try and claim one. John met me at my house at 5am, met Ken (Fishy Go Lure) at the Gas Station in Serramonte. We fueled up and trucked over to launch out of Oyster Point. Cinnabar, Sea-Larke, Carole-C, Young Andy and Pacific Angel were already on the water heading up north. The ride throught the "Potato Patch" was pretty bumpy, especially with half of california in boats who had heard the same reports (The whole Fleet was on it's way out). The water had flattened out by the time we had arrived at Rocky point where we dropped our lines and started trolling. we were marking bait from the Golden Gate Bridge all the way up to Stinson Beach. Our first fish came at 9am on an Green RSK and Herring at 35ft, a nice 10 pounder that shook the hook at the net (lost it). From then on it was short strikes and lots of seaweed, we could feel the winds starting to come up so we started to troll towards home, we watch as Cinnabar landed a nice 35 pound Salmon as we were trolling by. At Muir Beach John hooked up to a nice 15 pounder, this time it found it's way onto the deck and into the cooler. Whew...finally!!! We trolled a few miles more (nothing). Alot of boats did really well, and some didn't. Sea-Larke was high boat when I left, Cinnabar, Fishy, Carole-C, Young Andy, Pacific Angel all had fish, everyone came home with salmon.
