Saturday (Fleet Week)
Marin Coast - Dux/Rocky point Salmon

Left my house at 6am, fueled up the boat and truck and launched out of Oyster Point by 7am. We saw the fleet fishing at the Middle Grounds so decided to try that area first. We got a few short strikes but no hook ups. We did see a couple of nets go down. We were trolling along side "Young Andy" he had already had fish onboard. Talked to "Fishy" and he was up north between Duxbury Buoy and Rocky Point He said they already had 3 onboard. He called me on the cell phone and told me to get over to where he was at, we picked up and shot over to where he was fishing. Drop our lines in and started trolling, no more than 5 mins had gone by when we got our first fish. Just barely legal but we kept it anyway. Picked up a few more good size salmon and had our limits by 11 am, biggest fish 25# caught by John (Bro in law) That fish peeled out a good 150-170 yards of line and no sign of stopping, so pulled all lines in and turned the boat to chase it down a bit and gain some line back as John was starting to see the end of the spool (Feisty Salmon!!).  Good day on the water, Flat Calm and hardly any wind. We had a hard time in the bay, the coast guard had blocked off a large portion if it due to it being Fleet Week and the Air Show had started. Tons of Boaters and large wakes. Alot of zig zagging at 5-10 knots just to get through. Wish we had stayed for the Air Show but had to get home. Lures used were Watermelon Apex, Clear RSK with Herring at 30-40 pulls.
