Marin Coast - Dux and Shipping
Channel Bouys
Last Day of Salmon Season for us and decided to try one last time before
the season ended, John and his brother Ben Met at my house at 5:30am, on
the water by 7am. We got to Point Bonita and we hit a wall of fog. It went
from clear visabilty to not being able to see no more that 10 feet in front
of us and we were going strictly by electronics. Good thing we were taking
our time as an Aluminum Boat with a couple of guys who looked lost suddenly
came across our bow. We continued on and he turned to follow us, the fog
lifted at Stinson Beach (what a relief). Arrived at Duxbury and dropped
in our gear. For the next hour there was alot of bait and had 1 hit which
john landed a minnow size salmon. I decided to turn my Cell phone on and
found that Ken on "Fishy" had been trying to call us telling us the bite
was on at the Channel Bouys. We picked up and flew to the numbers he had
given us and found a hugh armada of boats. We dropped in and no more than
10 mins had gone by when we had our first fish in the box. We continued
to work the area and landed 2 more then the bite turned off. Ken had caught
his limits early and stopped by to say hi on the way in. We decided to
call it quits at 11am, the wind was picking up and the fog started to get
thick again and it was cold! We ended the day with 1 fish per person at
10, 20 and 26 pounds. It was a nice ending to the season and hope to again
in a few months. All fish caught on Deep Sixes with Clear 1 Eyed Jack/Herring
and Watermelon Apex. Was a blast fishing along side Cinnabar, Carole C,
Fishy and the rest of the gang, and also for having such a great crew onboard
which made it really fun to be out there fishing. John and Ben Thanks!!
